Pictures have emerged showing Ronaldo and his girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, enjoying a barbecue with their family just hours before the tragic incident. The barbecue took place at the couple’s Manchester home and was attended by Georgina’s sister Ivana.

Famous Spanish sports journalist Edu Aguirre, a close friend of the Portuguese superstar, was also present at the party. However, a few hours later Ronaldo announced the sad news that the baby boy in the twin pregnancy had passed away. The remaining baby girl was fortunately saved thanks to the efforts of the doctors.

On his personal page, Ronaldo expressed his grief: “With the deepest sadness, we announce the passing of our son. This is the greatest pain any parent can feel. Only the birth of our daughter has given us the strength to overcome this difficult moment, with a little hope and happiness. I would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and professionals who have supported my family with all their heart. We are very sad and wish for privacy during this difficult time. My son, you are our angel. We will love you forever.”

Before this incident, Ronaldo was the father of 4 children. Among them, Cristiano Jr (12 years old) and the male and female twins Eva and Mateo (4 years old) are the children that CR7 has through surrogacy. In addition, girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez and the 37-year-old striker also had a daughter Alana Martina together at the end of 2017.
