Tennis legend Serena Williams has announced that she is expecting her second child with husband Alexis Ohanian. The announcement was made at the Met Gala in New York, where Williams appeared on the red carpet with Ohanian and told reporters that there were “three of us” attending the event. Williams’ announcement was met with excitement and congratulations from fans and other celebrities.
Williams has previously expressed her desire to expand her family, after welcoming daughter Olympia in 2017. In a Vogue article last year, the 23-time Grand Slam champion wrote that she was taking a break from tennis to focus on motherhood and raising her children. With her latest pregnancy announcement, it’s hard to say for sure whether Williams will return to the tennis court.
The Met Gala is a high-profile event that attracts celebrities from all walks of life. Williams, who is friends with Vogue editor-in-chief and Met Gala co-chair Anna Wintour, is a regular at the annual event. This year, she wore a stunning figure-hugging black dress with a white skirt that accentuated her growing baby bump.

This year’s Met Gala, themed “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” was a tribute to the late Chanel designer.
